April 30th, 2009UncategorizedRevolution, as Mao Zedong warned, may not be "a dinner party." But the rebellion in Pakistan certainly ended in street celebrations across the country from Monday on, complete with drum-beating and dancing. There was no mistaking the mood and the message: people's power had won the day for democracy.

April 29th, 2009UncategorizedCharlie Giles and his family need our help. Charlie has been a huge advocate for the 9/11 First Responders. As a member of the FealGood Foundation, Charlie was not allowed to receive any assistance from the organization because it would have been seen as a conflict of interest. Sadly, and appropriately, the FealGood Foundation asked Charlie to resign so that he now can get help. John Feal released this statement:
Today the Fealgood Foundation lost board member Charlie Giles to his financial crisis. Charlie, a 9/11 responder who was seriously affected by 9/11,, was told he won his workmens comp case last week and received an award letter in the mail. His lump sum settlement would have been $40,000 plus payments every 2 weeks. The insurance company now has appealed it, and has left this hero with an eviction notice from his apartment which he moved into after losing his house last year.

April 28th, 2009UncategorizedFrom Clay Shirky’s personal blog: Newspapers and Thinking the Unthinkable.
When someone demands to know how we are going to replace newspapers, they are really demanding to be told that we are not living through a revolution. They are demanding to be told that old systems won’t break before new systems are in place. They are demanding to be told that ancient social bargains aren’t in peril, that core institutions will be spared, that new methods of spreading information will improve previous practice rather than upending it. They are demanding to be lied to.
There are fewer and fewer people who can convincingly tell such a lie.

April 24th, 2009UncategorizedLet me assure you that there are dozens of infidelity studies, polls and surveys which support that claim.
I’ve listed a few of them below:
● In a survey conducted by Men's Health magazine, 44% of the males said they'd had an affair with a co-worker at a holiday office party at least once in their life.
● In a survey by Trojan Condoms, 49% of office workers said they’d be willing to have sex with a fellow employee at the Christmas party if the opportunity presented itself.
● Almost 33% of those in the Trojan survey said they’d previously had sex with a colleague during or after an office Christmas party.
● A survey conducted by Canon revealed that 1/3 of the workers either kissed a co-worker, or ended-up going home with them after the company Christmas party.
● 64% of the office workers in the OfficeSMART survey said they personally knew of affairs that started at their office Christmas party.
● 1 out of every 4 people in the CareerOne.com.au office romance survey said they hooked up with someone at the office Christmas party.
● 41% of the 18-30 year old office workers in another study admitted getting together with a co-worker at their annual Christmas party. 13% said they’d actually had sex at the event, but only 6% of them got caught.
● 1 out of 5 women in the WorldWIT survey became romantically involved with a colleague at an office party.
● 33% of them admitted to having an affair following their office party fling, and a year or more later, 13% of them were still romantically involved.
● A London survey found that 1 in 10 respondents started a relationship at the company Christmas party. 25% of those questioned said that’s how they met their future spouse.
These are just a few of the many studies and surveys on office Christmas parties, sexual behavior and workplace affairs. Other studies show similar results. -

April 21st, 2009UncategorizedThere are certain signs of infidelity that usually show up AFTER Valentine´s Day, if you have a cheating spouse or significant other. The nine post-Valentine's Day cheating signs below will help you confirm the existence of an affair.
1. A hidden gift discovered before Valentine´s Day that has disappeared but wasn´t given to you.
2. Receipts for the purchase of 2 identical gifts. (If he bought 2 heart-shaped diamond pendants and you got one, who did he give the other one to?)
3. Receipts or credit card statements for gifts like candy, flowers, jewelry, or lingerie that you didn´t personally receive. (Who got $175 worth of lingerie from Victoria’s Secret?)
4. Sales receipts, charge slips or credit card statements for gifts that don´t correspond with the gift he gave you. (If you got flowers and candy, who did he give jewelry to?
5. A thank you note or e-mail to or from your spouse for a Valentine´s Day gift you know nothing about.
6. Gifts of a personal nature, like jewelry or lingerie, that suddenly appear after Valentine´s Day, which she attempts to pass off as items she purchased for herself. ( Ask her to show you the sales receipt for that bracelet she’s suddenly been wearing everyday.)
7. Restaurant receipts or charge slips dated February 13th,14th,15th for meals that didn´t include you.
8. Credit card receipts for a hotel stay dated the day before, the day after, or on Valentine´s Day. (Does the time stamp correspond with the time he or she was missing in action? )
9. Telephone or cell phone bills, or calls on his or her cell phone log showing suspicious calls made early morning or late evening on Valentine´s Day.
