Workplace infidelity is usually hard to detect.

    Not so at Christmastime.

Best Way to Expose a Workplace Affair

If you suspect your spouse or significant other of being romantically involved with someone at work, make sure you accompany the suspected cheater to the annual Christmas party at his or her job. Since company Christmas parties have a way of exposing workplace affairs, this is the best way to find out if what you suspect is true. Attend the festivities with the suspected cheater and you’re sure to find out.

    Watch the Suspected Cheater Interact

Observing the suspected cheater interact with his or her opposite sex co-workers in a social setting like the office Christmas party will either confirm your suspicions, or set your mind at ease. If he or she is romantically involved with someone they work with, their behavior and body language around each other will give them away, even in little ways. But knowing what to look for is the key.”

When I was 8, my father left for a pack of cigarettes and never returned. I kept wondering what I had done to make him leave. Years later my mother remarried. Both my step brother and my step father sexually molested me. I did not tell my mother because I was scared she'd blame me. My mother is not a demonstrative person and has never told me she loved me. I thought it was just my imagination but my best friends have acknowledged this to me. I have never been in a relationship where I have not been cheated on. I am a very successful professional who put herself through college. After 6 years of purposely not being romantically attached to anyone, I met and fell in love with a man. I have dated him 1 1/2 yrs. I lied to him when he asked me if I'd been touched against my will. I've never told anyone what happened to me. I just learned he is cheating and lies to me frequently. I am so full of pain and despair. I am so filled with shame for my life. I'm afraid I will never have a normal, healthy relationship.

Flowers are a traditional gift for Valentine’s Day.

But many of the flowers bought for Valentine’s Day will be sent or received by cheating Valentines, and will give those cheating spouses and lovers away.

The “cheating Valentine” stories below, show just how this can occur.

    Cliff’s Cheating Valentine Story

Cliff stopped by his wife Kate’s job to take her out for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner after work. While Cliff was waiting downstairs in the lobby for Kate to come down, two of Kate’s co-workers who knew him stopped to compliment him on the beautiful flowers he sent Kate for Valentine’s Day. One woman raved on and on about how she’d never seen such an unusual bouquet and asked Cliff which florist he used. When she saw the expression on Cliff’s face, she realized too late that she and her co-worker had made a terrible mistake. Cliff hadn’t sent Kate any flowers for Valentine’s Day. The flowers were from someone else.

For Men with a Cheating Girlfriend or Cheating Wife

    Flowers Sent to Her Job

Men, if your wife or girlfriend receives Valentine’s Day flowers from someone other than you, it’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that you’re not her only Valentine -- especially if the flowers are sent to her workplace instead of her home. If they weren’t sent by a male family member like her father, her son or her favorite nephew, then she’s got some explaining to do.

So whether you suspect her of cheating or not, stop by her job this Friday, since it’s the day before Valentine’s Day. Check out her desk or work station, if you can. If she received flowers from a secret lover, they’ll be sitting there in all their glory, since she can’t very well bring them home.

    Brianna’s Cheating Valentine Story

Brianna received a dozen long-stemmed roses from her boyfriend on Valentine’s Day. But the note with the flowers read:

“To my darling wife on Valentine’s Day
You mean the world to me. Words could never express the depth of my love for you.
    Your loving and devoted husband,
    Charles

Although Brianna had been dating Charles for several months, she had no idea he was a married man.

For Women with a Cheating Husband or Cheating Boyfriend

    Love Notes and Florist Receipts

Countless cheating husbands and cheating boyfriends have been exposed by mix-ups with the notes on the Valentine’s Day flowers they send.

If your name is Carla, and the note with your Valentine’s Day flowers says “ To Claire, with love,” – and he has no female relatives by that name, then he’s got some explaining to do.

Mix-ups with the love notes aren’t the only way cheating men get exposed. Check for florist receipts. The sometimes indicate that more than one bouquet of flowers were sent, and may even contain the name and address of the person to whom the other flowers were sent.

In an interview with Barbara Walters, scheduled to air on Friday on ABC's "20/20," Peter Cook claims he cheated on Christie because as he says, "I was seeking a connection I could not find in my own marriage.”

As an infidelity expert frequently called on by the media to comment on celebrity infidelity and other infidelity issues in the news, I feel obligated to speak out on this lame, but newly popular excuse that Peter Cook is using to justify the marital misbehavior that led to his divorce.

It doesn’t surprise me in the least that Peter Cook is trying to blame his ex-wife, Christie Brinkley for the affair he had, which led to their divorce.

He’s latched onto the latest excuse that cheating husbands are using to blame their wives for their extramarital affairs.

Cook has taken his cue straight from the highly controversial new infidelity book The Truth About Cheating – Why Men Stray and What You Can Do About It. He’s parroting the views of author and marriage counselor Gary Neuman, that emotional dissatisfaction is the main reason men cheat.

Neuman’s theory ( based on interviews with 100 cheating husbands) is that men cheat because they feel unappreciated – because they don’t get enough praise, attention or ego stroking from their wives.

You can see why this excuse would appeal to a narcissist like Peter Cook.

By latching onto this newly introduced, widely publicized, and completely incorrect reason (excuse) for why men cheat, Cook, a confirmed narcissist, (the opinion of the court appointed psychiatrist in his divorce trial) obviously saw this as way to thrust himself into the spotlight which he seems to love.

Peter Cook’s Search for an Emotional Connection

In his interview with Barbara Walters, Cook says he was seeking a connection he could not find in his marriage because the emotional aspect of their lives had changed. Does he really expect anyone to believe he found this emotional connection with a teenager less than half his age? Or that he found it by spending $3600 a month on internet porn, or by broadcasting photos of himself masturbating all across the web?

When asked what he wanted, Cook replied that he wanted “a little acknowledgement, a little attention, a little thank you every now and then for my efforts, for the amount of time I took to care for her and my family, for the wealth I was building.”

I followed the Brinkley-Cook trial very closely and was interviewed about it several times. Let’s not forget that this statement comes from a man who owned a successful architectural firm in the Hamptons, yet never paid for anything during the 10 years he was married to Christie Brinkley ( Christie’s own words, not mine) – a man who even charged the Mother’s Day flowers he bought Christie to her account.

Yet this same man gave his teenage mistress $15,000 for a down payment on a new car, and paid her $300,000 in hush money to keep her mouth shut after their affair was discovered, and left cash gifts of hundreds of dollars at a time hidden underneath rocks and behind picture frames for his young lover to find. Exactly whose wealth was this cheater trying to build? Sounds like his mistress to me.

    Who’s your favorite?

    Jennifer Aniston or Angelina Jolie?

Are you a member of Team Aniston or Team Jolie?

Ever wonder why some women choose to side with Angie, while other women side with Jen?

Women have very specific reasons for choosing the sides they do.

Each woman’s fans have certain things in common, and even think alike in many respects.

To see what type of woman sides with Angie, and what type of woman sides with Jen, check the list below to see 14 things each woman’s fans have in common.

Who’s your favorite? Angie or Jen?

    How do you compare?

Jennifer Aniston’s fans tend to be:

●Women who are scorned wives, ex-wives, or single women who have been victims of infidelity.
●Women whose husbands or boyfriends are cheating on them now.
●Women who feel Angelina deliberately seduced Brad away from Jen.
●Women who blame Angelina for Brad and Jen’s divorce.
●Women who see Angie as a home wrecker.
●Women who view Angelina as a predator with a hidden agenda which included seducing Brad while they were filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith. (Angelina admitted in an interview once that she always falls in love with her male co-stars.)
●Women who identify with Jen’s sweet, innocent, girl-next-door image.
●Women who believe Angelina’s self-described role of being a shoulder for Brad to cry on was all a part of her scheme to snare him.
●Women who are convinced that showing Brad what a wonderful mother she is, was part of Angelina’s strategy to win Brad’s heart -- especially since children are his hot button.
●Women who feel that Jen got a raw deal near the end of her marriage to Brad Pitt.
●Women who feel that Jen has handled this whole situation with dignity and class.
●Women who agree with Jen that Angie’s statements about falling in love with Brad while filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith were “uncool.”
●Women who see Jen as an innocent victim.
●Women who feel sorry for Jen.

Angelina Jolie’s fans tend to be:

●Women who strongly identify with the mistress or the “Other Woman” or who have been one themselves.
    ● Women who admire sexy, sultry, seductive women, or identify with these traits.
●Women who subscribe to the theory of "put your man first and do whatever it takes to keep him."
●Women who fault Jen for putting her career ahead of her husband.
●Women who feel that since Brad felt so strongly about having children, Jen should have given him a child. Since money was not an issue, they could have easily hired a Nanny so Jen could continue to pursue her acting career.
●Women who feel that if a woman doesn’t do the things necessary to hold onto her man, then she deserves to lose him.
●Women who feel that Angelina was not to blame for Brad and Jen’s divorce.
●Women who feel that Brad and Angelina make a better ( sexier, more interesting) couple than Brad and Jen.
    ●Women who love children.
    ●Women who themselves, were adopted.
●Women who admire all of Angelina’s charitable work.
●Women who like Angie simply because she has tattoos.
●Women who feels it’s Jen’s own fault that she lost Brad.
●Women who think Jen is selfish and shallow.

    How do you compare?

Lessons Learned from Angie, Brad and Jen

Brad and Jen were once known as Hollywood’s Golden Couple. Even though they had a happy marriage, Brad’s affair with Angie developed right under Jen’s nose. Like most wives, despite all the subtle signs, Jennifer Aniston was the last to know.

Oh boy! Howard K. Stern and Anna Nicole's doctors are going down big time. Check this out....

Anna Nicole Smith’s longtime partner and attorney Howard K. Stern and two doctors were charged Thursday with conspiring to furnish drugs before her death in 2007, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

At the time of her death several prescription medications — both in Smith’s name and that of her partner and lawyer, Stern — were found in the room.

Officials said prescription and over-the-counter drugs were found in Smith’s system, including three antidepressants or antianxiety drugs. Also found in toxicology testing was human growth hormone and chloral hydrate, a sleep medication, officials said.

Stern, 40, and doctors Sandeep Kapoor, 40, and Khristine Eroshevich, 61, were each charged with eight felonies, including conspiring to furnish controlled substances, unlawfully prescribing a controlled substance and obtaining fraudulent prescriptions between June 2004 and January 2007 — only weeks before the playmate’s death.

Kapoor and Eroshevich were each also charged with obtaining a prescription for opiates by “fraud, deceit or misrepresentation.” Each were also charged with one count of obtaining a prescription for opiates by giving a false name or address, according to the DA’s office.
All three were charged with one count of “prescribing, administering or dispensing a controlled substance to an addict.”

What a mess! And how did they think they could continue on with all of that? I've known for years that someday Anna would go to sleep and not wake up. And that is exactly what happened. Tragic. It's true that no one shoved those pills down Anna's throat but they sure as hell made them available to her. What these people allowed and participated in was absolutely criminal.

I am officially placing Howard K. Stern in my celebrity Dead Pool. I totally think he will off himself. Sad to say, but likely to happen. I mean, Anna was his life for a long time. I am surprised that he has hung in there for the last 2 years. Now with all this legal trouble? I can't see him making it through.

If your cheating husband tells you that there’s a new study out which proves that his genes made him cheat, he’s basing this excuse for his marital misbehavior on a new genetic study that has been widely misinterpreted.

Either he doesn’t know, or he’s hoping that you don’t know the facts.

There have been numerous reports in various print and online publications about the study of a male variant gene which has been referred to as the “cheating gene,” the “infidelity gene,” the “divorce gene,” – and a host of similar names. This gene has (erroneously) been reported to be responsible for why some men cheat on their mates.

But is that really the case?

What the “Cheating Gene” Study Was All About

Here are some important facts you should know about how the study of the so-called "cheating gene"was conducted, and why the study was done.

First of all, the study had nothing to do with infidelity. The researchers were studying pair-bonding behavior.

The study was inspired by early research done on male voles, known as field mice in the United States.

It was discovered that the males of one species of these little mouse-like rodents mated with numerous female voles, while the males of another species mated with only one female for life.

Their behavior was traced to the presence of a particular gene variant which acts on a hormone in the brain called Vasopressin. In voles, vasopressin affects pair-bonding behavior and sexual attachment.

Hasse Walum and a team of researchers from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden set out to see if this variant gene was present in human males, and if so, what effect it had on their behavior with regard to how they bonded with their mates.

552 pairs of male twins were genetically tested to see which men carried the variant gene. All of the men tested were currently in relationships that have lasted for a minimum 5 years. The men and their wives or live-in partners were also asked to fill our questionnaires designed to test the quality of their relationships with their mate.

Does the Gene Make Men Cheat?

It was found that 2 out of 5 men possess this variant gene which has also been called “the “bonding gene,” the “monogamy gene,” the “fidelity gene” and the “anti-commitment gene.”

The question is " Was the gene found to make men cheat?"

First of all, humans and voles are entirely different species. Although they know how the genes affect voles or field mice, the scientists aren’t really clear about how this gene affect human males.

Walum said, "Taken together, the effect of the gene variant that we have studied on human pair-bonding behavior is rather small, and it can not, with any real accuracy, be used to predict how someone will behave in a future relationship." He stressed that men and their spouses shouldn't read too much into the finding.

The only thing the researchers at the Karolinska Institute know for sure is that the men in their study who had this gene scored lower than the men without the gene, on a Pair Bonding Scale which measured the strength of their bonds and the quality of their relationships with their mates.

“We never looked at infidelity in our study at all. What we have been focusing on is how strongly men bond to their partners," said Hasse Walum.

But the study has been widely misinterpreted to mean that men with the variant gene are more likely to cheat on their mates.

If He Tells You His Genes Made Him Cheat

Since this study came out I have been inundated with e-mails and consultation requests from women who want to know if there’s any truth to this new genetic excuse men are using for their marital misbehavior.

If your cheating husband tries to pull this one on you, tell him to go back and look at the facts.

If he still insists that his genes made him cheat, ask him if he’s a man or a mouse.

FORT MADISON, Iowa - An Illinois man who police say held five people hostage in a motel in Fort Madison, Iowa, was arrested after he sent two of his hostages on a beer run.

Police say 33-year-old Jason Slagel of Moline is charged with five counts of false imprisonment and going armed with intent. They say Slagel pulled a knife during an argument Tuesday night with another man and told the people in the room that they wouldn't be allowed to leave.

One man was cut and Slagel had a cut on his hand, but police say the injuries weren't serious.

Police say Slagel eventually got thirsty and sent two hostages out for beer.

After they left, they called police and Slagel was arrested without incident.

Everybody is rushing to condemn AIG's bonuses, but this simple scandal is obscuring the real disgrace at the insurance giant: Why are AIG's counterparties getting paid back in full, to the tune of tens of billions of taxpayer dollars?

For the answer to this question, we need to go back to the very first decision to bail out AIG, made, we are told, by then-Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, then-New York Fed official Timothy Geithner, Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein, and Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke last fall. Post-Lehman's collapse, they feared a systemic failure could be triggered by AIG's inability to pay the counterparties to all the sophisticated instruments AIG had sold. And who were AIG's trading partners? No shock here: Goldman, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, UBS, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, Barclays, and on it goes. So now we know for sure what we already surmised: The AIG bailout has been a way to hide an enormous second round of cash to the same group that had received TARP money already.
